One of the things I want you to really know about Creative Living is it doesn’t have to take a whole lot of time. Today I’m going to show you how you can find inspiration in just one minute.

Something I do several times throughout the day (maybe you do this too) is make a cup of tea. When I do, I put the water on and then I flick on the radio.

Many times I hear a little something (a song, a phrase, a story, a title) that catches my ear. It starts as a seed and then transforms into something else, maybe a story to tell, a puzzle to unravel, an idea to wrestle with, a blog post to write, a resource to share.

In this episode of Creative Living TV, we can explore this together. Watch the video to try it along with me or give it a go on your own.

All you need is:

a radio
something to write on
something to write with
a way of timing yourself for one minute

Turn on your radio for one minute and see what you can gather. Notice what catches your attention and let it be a seed of inspiration. What might it grow into? Does a word suggest a poem? A topic suggest a photo series? A location suggest a dinner menu?

Focused attention and something to respond to gives you a quick and easy inspiration opportunity. Whenever you need a creative boost, flick the switch to inspiration radio!
