What are you hungry for under this Full Wolf Moon? The wolf reminds us to connect to our hunger, to notice what desires are calling for our attention. Our dreamboards can help us bring these desires to light and to being! This is an invitation to not just notice our desires but to begin the important work of tending them, stepping into what we can do to honour what we know of our dreams. Just as the wolves howl in community, let’s share our desires under this powerful moon and set the tone for an amazing year!

It was so weird creating my dreamboard alone this weekend after spending all of last year with a Year of Dreams. I spent hours perusing magazines, sipping tea, asking myself, “Jamie, what are you hungry for?”

As always, I approached my board with intention and intuition. There are some things I know I am hungry for but I also allow my dreamboard to reveal to me some yearnings that lie beneath, some that I may not yet be conscious of.

Looking at my Full Moon Dreamboard, I am hungry for…

• A house I adore. The top left-hand picture in particular represents the kind of house Justin and I have looked at when dreaming about our next move.
• Alone time. The sweet simplicity of the single chair on the bottom right.
• Special events and celebrations. I’m wild about the extravagant dinner party in the centre top. I love throwing special events, hosting magnificent parties. This is something I have not done for a very long time.
• The spa. I love the spa. A half day there and I feel like I’ve had a vacation. I think it’s time for me to go again.
• Nourishing food and lovely time in the kitchen. Justin and I cook dinner together every night. It’s one of my favourite ways that we connect, chatting and creating together. I’m hungering for not only the food but sharing experiences and making memories in the kitchen.
• Lovely communications. I’ve been dreaming of sending out little hellos. Perhaps this is the year I begin.
• Beauty. I’ve come to realize that beauty is a spiritual thing for me, a celebration of the wonder of life. I honour it and invite more of it in.
• Guidance. A lot of this board is about tuning into the messages of the Universe and letting them guide me into an extraordinary 2012.
• “Out of the Shadows” In many ways, 2011 was a year of unravelling (like in the circle painting in the middle, on the right). I spent a lot of time resisting the wave of change that I could feel coming. I’m starting this year with trust and a willingness to step in, believing that the change – whatever it ends up being – is an important part of my journey and is leading me (like the candles towards the opening door) towards something amazing.

What a beautiful time for the New Moon! And whenever a New Moon arrives, here at Jamie Ridler Studios, it’s time to start gathering your images and inspirations for your next Full Moon Dreamboard. This time we’re preparing for the Full Wolf Moon on January 9th. This is one of my favourite moons, the name inspired by the howling of the wolves as they seek out food in the January cold. As you’re gathering your images for your dreamboard, ask yourself, “What am I hungry for?”

Recently I’ve had a fair amount of people asking me about the names of the moons and also how they translate in the Southern Hemisphere. The names come primarily from the long tradition of the Farmer’s Almanac and are intimately tied to the seasons and the rhythms of nature. For 2012, I’ve created a schedule for you complete with all of the New Moon and Full Moon Dates, including the names of each moon and the appropriate transposition if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere. Thank you to the lovely Paula in Buenos Aires for her help with that.

Here we are, sharing our dreams under the last full moon of the year. Take time to celebrate all the blessings that have arrived this year, all the dreams that have started to blossom, bloom and bear fruit.

And then, as you stand at the edge of 2012, let yourself dream anew. Invite the magic in. What is in your heart? What are you dreaming of?

Next Full Moon: January 9th The Full Wolf Moon

I made this board in the final telecircle for the Year of Dreams. It was such a magical experience creating with a circle of dreamers, many of whom have been together since the Full Wolf Moon in January.  It’s been beautiful to see dreams and dreamers unfold. There’s magic in creating together and in coming to a practice again and again and again.

Under this Full Cold Moon, I feel the comforting glow of candles and inner fire, I see the joy and beauty of celebration and I am aware of the magic and power that is to come. As many of you know, I’ve been going through some deep inner rumblings this year. Something has been changing. I’ve been able to feel it but not quite been able to grasp what it is. For a long time I’ve found this frustrating, even maddening, but somehow, in this month’s board, I have a different view. What I see is the mystery of it – the mystery, the magic and the power.

I can wait to see what happens. There is so much beauty and significance here; it’s important to experience it. There’s no need to rush through it. I’ll just let it come.
