What are you creating in the world?
I am creating my world as I want it to be. We have so long talked about moving to Oregon. We are now creating our new life there. In taking this major step, I feel like I am on my “right” path! In Circe’s Circle, I saw my self – 10 years in the future – as living on the coast (very near where we are actually living as of August 1!) and I was creating art of found objects from the ocean and I was making a living at that! I won’t be making my living with that art right away, but I know I’m stepping in the right direction to create that artistic, beautiful life!
How has working with Jamie helped?
Working with Jamie has been truly amazing! The session of Circe’s Circle was so profound. With a small group of us, we truly bonded and got to know one another quite well (even just over the telephone!) I looked forward to our calls each week (and miss them still!)
I started out on the session with very little idea of what I wanted to work on as my project. It morphed as the weeks rolled along. I put aside the original idea as life happened. I learned that it is OK to have an idea and let it take its own shape along the way. My original idea still is in my head as a possibility – I have a very good basis for when/if it is right to let that idea take shape! (Off Center Studio (my blog name – and future business) was a big step for me. I reserved that name so that I can use it as my ideas continue to morph and develop!)
Jamie as a coach was just about the best I could imagine. Kind and caring, and so much a cheerleader throughout the process! It was truly an amazing experience to work with her. Some day I hope to get to work with her in person – or even just have coffee!
What have you learned about yourself?
I have learned a lot about myself in just this calendar year! I have faced health challenges, family crisis, a new marriage, a huge upcoming move… and I’ve handled all of this so much better than I ever thought I could!
In finding out I was diabetic about 5 months ago, I took the challenge of changing my eating habits and ran with it. I have lost 35 pounds since then, and my blood sugar levels have dropped significantly! That challenge, even a couple years ago would have been much more difficult for me. Instead of just breaking down, I faced it. It has made me a stronger person too. (the timing of diagnosis was actually wonderful – because I was in Circe’s Circle, and had the lovely support of Jamie and the other participant!)
I have learned also that I am willing to take risks. I have never thought of myself as a risk-taker, but I have taken a leap and moved to Oregon with my husband, who quit his job so we could pursue our dream of living on the coast! My work is going to support us for a while, and it excites me rather than scares me! I have learned that I am brave!
What would you like to celebrate?
I would like to celebrate that I have grown in this last few months. I am learning what I really want for my life, and instead of just dreaming, I’m going for it. I want to celebrate that we are now living on the Oregon coast and living the life we’ve dreamed of!! I have started picking up “found objects” from the shore, and have plans for some art and jewelry using these lovely items!

Watching personal progress unfold, is powerful.
You did it Tammy! When we first started CC less than six months ago, your move to the west coast was a “one day” dream. But you did it! With Jamie’s help, hopefully we’ll both be making all those dreams we talked about come true. It was an honour to participate in CC with you and Jamie. Way to go Tammy!
What a lovely testimony to Tammy’s success! It was a pleasure to read about how one person has grown into her dreams. Tammy’s blog is lovely, especially the photos of her oceanside gym. Best of luck to her and continued success to you Jamie!
