Find Inspiration: Idealism

This made me weep. It reminded me of how sometimes when I’ve brought a positive world view, people assume I haven’t known hardship, that somehow I’m naive to the pains of the world and that’s why I smile. Instead, I want them to know, I choose optimism each and every day. And some days are easier than others. And now, I’ll simply share this performance of ‘B’ by Sarah Kay and hope it explains for me that opening up and believing, that getting up again and again has nothing to do with naivete and everything to do with love.

Thank you, Jenn, for sharing this on Roots of She.

Completely completely amazing! I am in awe of this woman’s words! Her expression! Wow!
Your phrase “getting up again and again has nothing to do with naivete and everything to do with love” That is so beautiful and so incredibly true. Thank you for sharing this with all of us! A friend of mine once noted that sometimes, the people who are the happiest are the ones who’ve got the most to be sad about, the cynical side of us once thought that perhaps it was compensation but I think this is more true because sometimes the knowing of hardship gives way to a living in love, a knowing of how much there truly is to rejoice for and how much that love will never stop if we carry it on!
