Full Moon Dreamboards: The Full Worm Moon

in Develop a Practice,Full Moon Dreamboards

It’s the Full Worm Moon and we’re exploring what dreams are wiggling their way to the surface, what wishes are starting to ask for your attention, what’s beginning to emerge. You can share your dreamboard by adding your link to the Mr. Linky below. If you’d like to learn more, click here.

This week I received a great question from Helen at First a Glimmer. She asked what to do when you feel that you’d like to stay a bit longer with your current dreamboard instead of making a new one. I thought I’d share my answer with you as well.

First and foremost, trust your instincts. If you want to stay with the dreamboard, stay with it. Instead of creating a new one under the Full Moon, spend some time engaging with the board you’re staying with. Ask yourself some questions about it and journal them out. What needs more time? What’s asking for you attention? What do you want to spend more time in the company of? How might you do that? How will your board inform your month? What message does this board have for you? You might use the dreamboard to inspire a piece of some kind – a poem, a song, a story, a dance. Energize the board with your attention. If your instincts say there’s something important here, give it the gift of time.

You can also trust that with the creation of the board, the invitation has been made. If it feels good, you can try my “have your cake and eat it too” solution of keeping the current board in your field of vision (I often put a picture of it as the background on my computer) *and* making a new one. Or you can keep the current dreamboard up and make a quick-and-dirty collage a la Soul Reflections with the intention of discovering some insightful updates.

I hope that is helpful, everyone. Don’t hesitate to be in touch if you have any questions at all. I always love to hear from you. And I’m curious what’s showing up for you all under this Full Worm Moon. This year I’ve found my dreamboards to be surprising. How about you?

I find this process of collage so very intuitive … when creating the work in question I often have no idea what it will become … I frequently find it quite difficult to look at a work I’ve just completed and analyze, interpret.

I find it interesting that the dreamboard I did in January and the one this weekend are so vastly different. In January – writing (fiction) was big on my mind and now I haven’t thought about it in…well…since I created the board frankly. And I’m actually OK with that – I am where I am.

I think that following your gut feeling is really important. It’s what I do, even if sometimes I tend to overthink the process.
For example the Full Moon is tomorrow, usually I would freak our for not having made my WishBoard but today I don’t, I just feel that I have to wait a little longer to make it “right” :)

Thanks for sharing this question with us Jamie.
Hugs

I agree, thanks for sharing the question!

I have been thinking I need more time with all the ones I have done. So instead of creating a new one this month, I will do that. Meanwhile I think I need to peruse more magazines for things to jump out at me. If you don’t open one, how can images talk to you!?

Thank you, Jamie, for this wonderful exercise. This is my first time participating, and I got such a great feeling from it. I’ve spent the last few weeks stretching a bit beyond my comfort zone, and in the process have had many interesting thoughts floating around my head. Making my dreamboard really helped to sift though the noise and bring some clarity. So again, thank you! I’m looking forward to visiting everyone else to see what they’ve come up with.

Setting a picture of your dreamboard as your computer’s desktop image is a great idea!

I’m a virgin to the Full Moon Dream Board! I’ve been feeling so caged lately with my job, schedules, and making time for myself that I just wanted to shout out my dreams and remind myself and the universe what I desire. Thanks Jamie for letting me have a place to shout and a some motivation to move towards those dreams. :)

Thanks for the inspiration to ponder my dreams. It seems a little funny to post my silly dreamboard collage – but it was fun, and it is sincere. As the full moon passes through my night sky I wish for all the dreams of these full moon dreamers to come true.

I only had time to do mine on Polyvore this month…and I have no idea why when I saved my photo it has all that white background around it. Oh well..too much else happening in my life now to try to fix that!

Morning Jamie!
YES! I found this board to be PARTICULARLY surprising!
I’m always surprised how they take on a life of their own and can go in totally different directions than I’d intended. This board was WAY different!

My friend Gretchen Wegner introduced me to your work Jamie a while ago and this is the first time forces have aligned for me to contribute to your wonderful Dream Boarding community. I find what you are doing inspiring! Thanks so much for the opportunity to participate.

Jamie, thanks so much for the suggestions about what to do if one wants to stay with a dreamboard a little longer. As you can probably see, I ultimately decided to have my cake and eat it too!

jamie, jamie, jamie! what have you begun? the dream boards have been so much fun for me to create. I love the whole process it’s just that I find myself holding back on starting to put them together. once I go then I am all geared up and it is a wonderful thing. I have really enjoyed trying to figure out why I chose certain images and words and have really felt the impact my dream boards have had in my life. thank you SO much for introducing me to this wonderful exercise! ciao!

What an intense Moon this was, and a bit frazzling for some, but I kept my collage simple yet powerful!

Hearts to All (it’s a Libran Moon!)
