Divine timing. I’ve been wanting to join a drum circle for some time. Fear stops me. Kind of silly fear. And this particular group is the one I read about hosting the circles local to me. Gives me chills. I hope to have the courage to join one day:)
Dear Joy: Don’t wait!! Drum now!! There is nothing to be afraid of and no way to make mistakes in a drum circle. The key is just to listen to the person on either side of you and then respond. A conversation will arise and you will be amazed at how the group magically grooves together and how the drum songs take on a life of their own. You are the same beautiful (and courageous!) soul today that you will be “one day”. And drumming will only help you grow :)
