During Mom’s illness we spent a lot of time over at her place, sharing memories, stories, making food and memories. On Saturdays we often tuned into PBS, enthusiastically watching the food shows. What a different pace they have then the Food Network. What a relief it was to be in the kitchen, gently, learning how to make ice cream or pasta. No flashy twists. No high-stakes competition. Just an experienced chef inviting you into their kitchen to teach you something delicious. It was a welcome break during a stressful time.
