Welcome to September’s New Moon, marking the beginning of our journey to our next Full Moon Dreamboard on the Full Harvest Moon on October 4th. Fall is on its way in the Northern Hemisphere.

There seems to be a lot of chaos and major lift shifts happening everywhere you look. Deep clearings, life changes, dramatic turnings, all of this while we find ourselves with a New Moon in Virgo starting to stir our autumn dreams. So as you start to visit your imagination and collect your inspirations for your next dreamboard, this is a beautiful time to ground yourself in all things earthy. Look for what centres you. Invite in support and abundance from the material world. Savour your connection to the here and now. Explore your relationship to your body and health. Take on loving new routines. Lay the groundwork for a new project.

Start gathering your thoughts, inspirations and materials. If it feels right, let the element of Earth inspire you. Hold it lightly. Just let yourself wonder and notice. And sometime between now and October 4th, set aside some dreamboard creating time. We will launch our dreams here, together, under the Full Harvest Moon.

A new moon. A new beginning.  A new badge. I hope you like it!

As is our new practice, with the new moon it is time to start casting forward to our full moon dreamboards, which we will share on Friday September 4th, the full corn moon. The journey from here to the full moon takes us to the closing days of summer. Before we say goodbye to the time of year that is ruled by the sun, let’s think about how we would like to shine! With this new moon being in Leo, that seems doubly appropriate. You know Leo revels in the spotlight!

So, start gathering your thoughts, inspirations and materials. Let the question “How would I like to shine?” accompany you over the next few weeks. Hold it lightly. Just let yourself wonder. And sometime between now and September 4th, set aside some dreamboard creating time. We will launch our dreams here, together, under the Full Corn Moon.

Since I began hosting Full Moon Dreamboards many people have asked why we don’t create the boards on the New Moon instead. The connection to the New Moon makes perfect sense, planting the seeds of our dreams and watching them flourish as the moon does. And the full moon makes perfect sense; the moon’s peak is a powerful time for dreaming. So, I had an idea that I believe will help us harness both aspects of the moon’s cycle and powerfully support our dreams.

On the new moon, I will put up a post sharing the name and focus of the next full moon and inviting you to start gathering materials for your dreamboard. That will give you plenty of time to start collecting magazines, to keep your eye out for things you might like to include, to journal and to consider what your dreams might be this month. Then, on the full moon, we launch!

Let’s start this practice on today’s New Moon. As this month progresses we will be moving towards the Full Sturgeon Moon. (Truthfully, that sounds even weirder to me than the Full Worm Moon!) The sturgeon is a fish, one that is traditionally caught in abundance during the August Full Moon.  This is a time to celebrate that abundance in all aspects of your life, to celebrate the gifts of summer. It also occurs to me is that this must herald a time of intuition – generous fish appearing in the water like messages stirring in our dreams. I’m imagining all of us awakening our inner senses and inviting insights into our hopes and dreams.

And so we begin our journey towards the Full Sturgeon Moon on August 5th. I’ll look forward to sharing our dreams!
