This Week on Creative Living with Jamie:
Tanya Geisler, leadership coach
Tanya Geisler is Leadership Coach (CPCC, ACC) who helps entrepreneurs (and entrepreneurial types) step into their starring roles of their life and work. What that really means is that she helps them move beyond their Impostor Complex and into their Authority. (Think sovereignty).
She’s spoken at TEDx Women (Impostor and Authority: The Space between what we see and what is real); writes extensively about joy, personal leadership, purpose, the power of community and of course, the Impostor Complex (on her own site as well as others such as the wildly popular The Daily Love); has created the unique coaching/brainstorming fusion that is Board of Your Life (which has been featured in Canadian Living magazine); and leads the transformative 12-week Step into Your Starring Role program that has been called “essential technology for anyone ready – really ready – to actualize their greatest potential.”
In collaboration, Tanya and Lauren Bacon, have created Beyond Compare, a self-study online program for women for women stop who are ready to stop comparing themselves to others and to step into a new way of being where they celebrate others’ success!
Lauren helps entrepreneurs, creative professionals, and accidental bosses discover their own definitions of success, and live (and work) in alignment with them. Some of the ways she does that include writing, coaching, teaching, public speaking, and advising a startup or two. Her writing on business, technology, and leadership has been featured on Quartz, 99u, Women 2.0, The Atlantic, The Huffington Post, and Fast Company – and her bestselling first book, The Boss of You: Everything a Woman Needs to Know to Start, Run, and Maintain Her Business, has been called “the ultimate Bible for female entrepreneurs.”

I love this episode, thank you both! It has helped me understand an otherwise strange and hurtful dynamic that has been showing up in my life whenever I step into doing creative things and sharing it with others who are newer to the practice. The notion of misplaced admiration helps me feel compassion for the people who have been deeply unkind to me and I also can see where I’m being called to approach things differently. So helpful!
