This Week on Creative Living with Jamie:
Hannelore Sotzek, artisan and co-founder of Tea Leaf Press
Hannelore Sotzek is a Niagara Region talent whose passion has always been for all things books. Her background in book publishing as a researcher, writer, and editor helped lead her to co-found Tea Leaf Press, creating much-needed novels for children who are reluctant readers. Tea Leaf Press’ original series were celebrated by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC). Scholastic Canada carried fifteen of these titles, including Hannelore’s novels (Making the Grade and The Edge). Being crafty by nature, it was a natural transition from creating text to making the physical book itself. Trained by an independent book binder in Guelph, Ontario, as well as a larger book bindery in St. Catharines, Hannelore creates beautiful and durable handbound books so that others might be inspired to capture their own story.

Wow! I feel like I could have known here when I was in Ontario, her story sounds so familiar. And how powerful to admit that there are things she could no longer do now that her life has changed forever. And how brave to say yes to that opportunity and discover, I better make some books now that they have said yes to her! Wonderful interview Jamie.
I loved listening to both you and Hannelore. You both have compelling and calming voices, with so many beautiful visual nuggets of creativity to share. Thanks so much for this one – I personally have always had a thing for books, empty notebooks, which are waiting to be filled with something. And I dream of making one of a kind books – so inspirational and absolutely meant to be for me. You are both awesome creative women who share so much with the rest of this group.
Thank you so much! I’m delighted that we could inspire you on the road to your dreams! I hope this season is rich in creativity and progress for you and your one-of-a-kind books!
